Enjoy The Best Moment in Ubud – See the 8 Remarkable Spot – Advised for Tourists from England

Ubud as tourust destination

Ubud is, in lots of ways, the ethnic core of Bali. Home to one of Bali’s imperial families, this traditional country town has royal palaces and ancient holy places. The town is moreover where a few of the world’s remarkable craftsmans and enthusiasts have visited and worked in. Along the main street are hundreds of art studios and galleries, in conjunction with an impressive local crafts market selling antiques, woodcarvings, crafts, fabrics, artworks, and jewelry. A short trip outside Ubud will take you to Tegenungan Waterfall, Ubud Monkey Forest, and the photogenic Tegallalang rice terrace. Sign up with an excursion to local villages like Campuhan, Penestanan, Peliatan, and Batuan, where you can discover Balinesse making and selling genuine Balinese crafts.

Ubud is one of those places where a holiday of a several days can quickly convert into a stay of weeks, months and even years. The size of the town’s expat community confirms this, and so do the various novels and films that have been set here, creative responses to the seductive nature of this most cultured of all Balinese villages. This is a place where traditional Balinese culture suffuses every waking time, where vibrant offerings decorate the streets and where the charismatic strains of gamelan are an ever-present soundtrack to daily life. It’s also somewhere that is relentlessly on-trend– a showcase of ecological concept, mindfulness, culinary inventiveness and the finest that global tourism has to offer. Come here for leisure, for restoration and to have what may well be the most marvelous getaway of your life.

8 recommended trip activities you can try out today

1. Kecak Dance event

Ubud is popular for its traditional dance performances. We didn’t have very high hopes but adored the Kecak dance we saw at the temple in Junjungan village.
Around 60 sarong-clad men provide the soundtrack of spooking songs, while dancers recreate a story from the Ramayana. It is less hectic and commercial than the performances in the centre– all 150 family members in the village are included and proceeds go towards temple events.

2. Practice Yoga

Ubud is yogi paradise! Whether you prefer fast-paced vinyasa or gentle yin, you’ll get a session to suit you. It’s the best place to make your own yoga retreat by buying an inexpensive multi-class pass.

3. Downhill Bike Trek

We don’t cycle regularly, but the Bali Eco Cycling activity was easy– it was all downhill and we barely had to pedal! We began with breakfast overlooking the volcano Mt Batur before cycling through the countryside stopping at a family compound, rice fields, and a 500-year-.

4. Monkey forest

The Monkey Forest belongs to the top Ubud interests, but we were actually a little nervous about facing the famous monkeys. It turned out to be an enjoyable walk through the forest with temples and banyan trees that thought that an Indiana Jones set.

Be careful of the monkeys, though– they are thieves and can possibly be bold. We didn’t take a bag, sunglasses, or have anything in our pockets (except cash to enter and my camera around my neck), and they didn’t bother us.

Don’t feed them — you will result in with monkeys climbing all over you. This may sound fun, but rabies is prevalent in Bali, and if you get bitten or damaged (a common occurrence), you’ll need a number of treatments.

5. Pura Gunung Kawi

This 11th-century temple features shrines sculpted into the rock at the end of a river valley. It’s a 30-minute drive from Ubud and deserves combining with Tirta Empul. Arrive early to avoid the groups and souvenir sellers– at 8 am there were only two other guests.

6. Tirta EmpuWater Temple

The water temple Tirta Empul is close to Gunung Kawi. Balinese Hindus go here to bathe in the holy waters.

7. Tegenungan Falls

The waterfall isn’t big, still, the surroundings is lovely, and we had a swim in the pool. Once again, get there early.

It’s a 25-minute drive from Ubud and can be combined with the Hidden Canyon. We didn’t make it down the canyon as it became more hardcore than we expected– come ready to climb rocks and wade through waist-high water. It’s best to find one of the local guides to show you the way.

8. Visit an Art Gallery.

Ubud is a very artistic town. You can see tons of small studios to purchase the artwork or larger art museums to discover the history of art in Ubud. I enjoyed the Balinese art at Neka Art Museum the most, despite the fact that the architecture at the Antonio Blanco Museum was surely unusual.

Literally, there are hundreds of more things that you can explore when you are in Ubud Bali.
