Ubud as tourust destination

Ubud is, in lots of ways, the artistic hub of Bali. House to one of Bali’s royal families, this traditional country town has royal palaces and historical holy places. The town is furthermore where a few of the world’s notable craftsmans and hobbyists have explored and worked in. Throughout the main road are hundreds of art studios and galleries, along with an amazing local crafts market selling antiques, woodcarvings, crafts, cloths, art work, and fine jewelry. A quick ride outside Ubud will take you to Tegenungan Waterfall, Ubud Monkey Forest, and the photogenic Tegallalang rice terrace. Participate in a day trip to local villages like Campuhan, Penestanan, Peliatan, and Batuan, where you can experience Balinesse making and selling traditional Balinese crafts.

Ubud is one of those destinations where a holiday of a several days can quickly convert into a stay of weeks, months or even years. The scale of the town’s expat community confirms this, and so do the various stories and films that have been set up here, creative responses to the irresistible nature of this most cultured of all Balinese towns. This is a spot where traditional Balinese culture suffuses every waking moment, where colorful offerings enhance the streets and where the hypnotic strains of gamelan are an ever-present soundtrack to daily life. It’s also somewhere that is relentlessly on-trend– a display of sustainable creation, mindfulness, culinary inventiveness and the very best that worldwide tourism has to offer. Come here for leisure, for rejuvenation and to have what may well be the most wonderful vacation of your life.

8 suggested tour activities you can go for now

1. Kecak Dance show

Ubud is well-known for its traditional dance shows. We didn’t have very high assumptions but loved the Kecak dance we saw at the temple in Junjungan town.
Around 60 sarong-clad men offer the soundtrack of haunting chants, while dancers recreate a tale from the Ramayana. It is less hectic and commercial than the performances in the centre– all 150 families in the village are involved and continues go towards temple activities.

2. Do Yoga and fitness

Ubud is yogi heaven! Whether you choose fast-paced vinyasa or soft yin, you’ll get a program to fit you. It’s the best place to make your own yoga retreat by buying an inexpensive multi-class pass.

3. Downhill Bike Tour

We don’t cycle often, still, the Bali Eco Cycling tour was effortless– it was all downhill and we barely had to pedal! We began with breakfast overlooking the volcano Mt Batur before cycling through the countryside stopping at a family compound, rice fields, and a 500-year-.

4. Monkey forest

The Monkey Forest belongs to the top Ubud tourist attractions, but we were actually a little nervous about braving the famous monkeys. It turned out to be a delightful walk through the forest with temples and banyan trees that thought that an Indiana Jones set.

Aware of the monkeys, though– they are thieves and can possibly be bold. We didn’t take a bag, sunglasses, or have something in our pockets (except cash to get in and my camera around my neck), and they didn’t trouble us.

Don’t give them food — you will turn out with monkeys climbing all over you. This may sound exciting, but rabies prevails in Bali, and if you get bitten or damaged (a common occurrence), you’ll need a number of injections.

5. Pura Gunung Kawi

This 11th-century temple features shrines engraved into the rock at the bottom of a river valley. It’s a 30-minute drive from Ubud and is worth merging with Tirta Empul. Arrive early to avoid the groups and souvenir sellers– at 8 am there were only 2 other visitors.

6. Tirta EmpuWater Temple

The water temple Tirta Empul is near to Gunung Kawi. Balinese Hindus get here to bathe in the spiritual waters.

7. Tegenungan Waterfall

The waterfall isn’t huge, yet the landscapes is marvelous, and we enjoyed a swim in the pool. Once again, arrive early.

It’s a 25-minute travel from Ubud and can be combined with the Hidden Canyon. We didn’t make it down the canyon as it turned out to be more serious than we expected– come ready to clamber rocks and wade through waist-high water. It’s best to choose one of the Balinese guides to present you the way.

8. You must visit an Art Gallery.

Ubud is a really artsy town. You can head to lots of small studios to get the artwork or larger art museums to find out about the background of art in Ubud. I delighted in the Balinese art at Neka Art Museum the most, although the architecture at the Antonio Blanco Museum was surely unusual.

Literally, there are numerous more activities that you can discover while you are in Ubud Bali.
